Troop Events

Popcorn Coordinators

Posted on

From: Mr. Arbaugh

We are in need of popcorn coordinators for our fall fundraising program.  It would require attending a kickoff event, ordering popcorn for the show and sells/door to door sales, coordinating a Troop kickoff with order forms, and setting up show and sells, etc.  It is easier if we have two coordinators to split the work.  If we can’t get coordinators we won’t be able to hold the fundraising program that allows 30% of the sales to go to the Scout Accounts of the Scouts that sale popcorn.  This program is a great way for your Scout to fund their own account to attend campouts, etc.

Please email Mr. Arbaugh at jerry.arbaugh@pfgc.com to volunteer.  Below is an outline of dates for the program:

August 1st                 Wednesday     Popcorn Orientation #1 (only attend one)
August 14th               Tuesday          Popcorn Orientation #2 (only attend one)
August 27th               Monday          Deadline for Units to place
September 7 & 8        Fri/Sat            Popcorn Distribution at District Sites

Concessions Volunteers Needed

Hey parents,

We’re still in need of three adults to work the Luke Bryan concert at Sports Authority Field on the 4th of August. If you’d like to help us out, sign up at the following link:

https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090845a8a92ba57-2018

It’s a great opportunity to earn money for your son’s scout account and it’s a fun group of people to work with. We’ll be meeting at the church between 1 and 2 pm to carpool down to Sports Authority. The concert finishes around 11 pm and we’re likely home by about 12 am. For the past concert we earned approximately $100 with about $40 in cash tips brought home. No worries if you haven’t attended any training, we’ll train you on the spot.

Also, please look forward with the Broncos schedule and sign up to work some games.

Thanks!

Julie

From: Mr. Arbaugh

Troop 640 is looking for Scouts and adults to help staff the weekend and help lead the next
generation of Scouts at Camp Tahosa August 3-5 . Troop 640 pays the registration fee and
District provides all meals (Friday dinner, Saturday all, Sunday breakfast.)!!

This is a great opportunity for Scouts to get service hours and show Webelos what Boy Scouts is all about. Scouts will have the opportunity to learn new skills and further develop their leadership skills as they teach the next generation of Boy Scouts. Scouts will be asked to lead stations that will teach Webelos some of the needed skills for Boy Scouts.

Michael and Jon Strauss are going and will be leading our contingent for the weekend.

Please email Mr. Strauss at jcstrauss@comcast.net to sign up.

Air Force/Navy Football Game and Campout

Posted on

The Air Force Academy hosts the Navy football team on October 6th (Saturday) and thanks to Mr. Smerchek Troop 640 can get tickets to the game and has reserved the campground near the B-52 airplane on Stadium Blvd for that Friday and Saturday.

We have to pre-order the game tickets so we need a list of people who will be going. Please email Mr. Arbaugh at jarbaugh@pfgc.com the number of game tickets you need and the number of Scouts and adults who will be camping with the Troop that weekend.  We’ll need the number of tickets needed by August 1st, so please respond ASAP if you want on the list.

Campers may also be able to participate in a tour of the Academy not open to the public, depending on the game time and schedule for Saturday and Sunday morning.
